cami and hailee's birthday bash

September 14th was Cami and Hailee’s birthday. We had a birthday lunch at the Café for Hailee’s 20th, and went in to town for Cami’s big 21 year old birthday dinner, and had a fun little party at night for both of them. The waitress from the café always wants to hang out with us. She tells us every time we see her that she’ll teach us Chinese if we’ll teach her English. She’s a bit different but very kind. She had heard that it was both Cami and Hailee’s birthday so she invited us all to her room that night for drinks. We weren’t quite sure what kind of drinks we’d be served but we accepted the invitation. We arrived to her room right on time, because it’s really impolite to be late to things here, but she wasn’t there. No one answered. We went back up to our floor. A few moments later she walks into the canteen speaks something in Chinese and walks out. She doesn’t show much emotion so we can never tell if she’s angry or happy or what. A few minutes later she came back with a bucket of goodies. She had brought a bunch of Chinese treats and a bunch of different kinds of drinks. We had a little party! It was just great. Her two Chinese friends didn’t know any English and were so excited to take pictures with us. We danced for them and it was hilarious! They joined a long and we were all laughing so hard. At one point we were all sitting there trying to communicate (key word trying) and our friend asked us if we drink. I think they must’ve thought we were drunk because we were laughing so much and being crazy! How funny! We just laughed some more about that and continued to party. They’re our new Chinese friends! The party didn’t last long but it stayed strong the whole entire time. It was a great birthday party for the girls.
