Going to church in China is a task in and of its self but when the power and water are out it makes it even tougher. The train ride to Nanjing is 2 hours long. So in order to make it to church on time we have to leave Bengbu at 7. So that means we have to leave Mayflora by 5:45 so we can be to the train station at least a half hour early. Cami, Rach, and I got up and got ready in the dark. We didn’t get to shower because the water wasn’t on until 5:30. It was fine though. The taxi was out waiting for us at 5:40. We made it to the train station plenty early. We were waiting for the train when we found out it was delayed 2 hours. WHAT A BUMMER. We had gotten up so early to get there on time and now we weren’t even going to make it to church on time. We were so sad. We still went because the ticket was nonrefundable. We got to Nanjing and made it to church in time for Sunday school. We had missed the sacrament so we asked the Branch President if we could get it still. He had a few men give it to us. We went into a room and they gave it to us. They wanted us to sing a sacrament song before they passed it to us. It was really awkward. Usually you’d think that everyone would sing the song together but the men in the room didn’t sing. They had us three sing alone. It was just really weird. Those guys were interesting. They’ve got funny personalities. It was really great to get the sacrament though. Going to church in China is great!
