One night as we were sitting in the Kitchen talking. Rachel, Cami, and I heard music coming from the hallway. As I finished up my dishes Rach and Cami ran down the hallway to see where it was coming from. As they looked out the window at the end of the hallway they could see flashing lights coming from the Gymnasium and hear loud music. We knew it must be a party. We hurried and changed out of our house slippers and into our shoes and headed down the 6 flights of stairs. To our surprise it was Karaoke night! Many Chinese teachers and students had gathered for KTV. KTV is a Karaoke place here in China. You can find a KTV anywhere in any city here in China. We had our very own night of KTV right here at Mayflora International School. It was a blast. There selection of English songs was slim but we found a few to sing. They kept wanting us to sing and after we had sung Lonely by Akon, Girlfriend by Avril Lavigne, When You’re Gone by Avril Lavigne we didn’t know any others. They picked us a Madonna one to sing and we made up our own tune and sang a long with the words on the screen. We sounded awful but the teachers and students were clapping along and smiling big. They thought we were stars. It was such a great night.
